Whimsical Christmas tags

Hello there crafty friends,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm so sorry I have been neglecting my blog for such a long time but when life is busy and hectic, hobbies are the first thing to get sacrificed, I'm afraid.

It's incredible it's December already and the end of 2015 is almost here - but where did all the months go?

The past weeks I was very busy creating cards for a charity raising funds for children. I also created some cute whimsy Christmas tags, as I was sure they would sell really well and bring in some money for a very good cause. I used a bunch of MFT dies and stamps - I love that "Jingle all the way" stamp and die set! I also used the Instaframe die from MFT. The concept of these tags is not mine, I saw them on Nichol's blog via Pinterest and found them irresistible, I absolutely HAD to make some!

I'm working on a couple of Christmas cards now and hope to finish them soon so that they can be posted before the week is out!

Thanks for stopping by and have an extremely creative holiday season!! ;-)

Spellbinders to the rescue

Hello there crafters!
I have a quick yet effective card to share with you today. Last week I needed a last-minute card for the birthday of a colleague. I had just one evening to come up with something and therefore I took my Spellbinders out and started playing with them. They're my go-to tool when I need to whip up a card in almost no time - they're so easy to mix and match and the result is always great! I added a stamped greeting (Lily of the Valley stamp), Prima 6x6 designer paper, some matching ribbon and a charm from my stash and bang! The card was ready!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to be back soon with a new creation.
Have a nice weekend!
Hugs, Vittoria

Christening album

Hello there crafters!
I have an 8½ by 8½ album to share with you today. I made it from scratch using chipboard, cardstock and designer papers. It was made for the Christening of my nephew - my sister was absolutely happy to get it!! She's not  into crafts and such at all, therefore I kept the album very simple with cardstock inserts on which she can stick photos - no need to cut anything, she just has to add glue and write some journaling on the back, that's all. The album is full of tags and pockets and very interative. The paper collection I used is "It's a boy" by DCWV - very cute indeed!! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the album before gifting it to my sister, so I asked her to shoot some for me, which she did with her smartphone - hope the quality isn't too low!! Thanks for stopping by and have a nice, super crafty weekend! :D

You'll be missed

Hello there crafters!
It's unbelievable that a quarter of the year is gone already, don't you think? Anyway, the other week I needed a card for a colleague of mine who decided to quit because she had found a better job.
Although it was a good-bye card, I wanted something whimsical and merry and therefore I decided to use one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, the bunch of ducks. I stamped the image twice using the masking technique and cut it out with my MFT stitched ovals die, then matted it on a scalloped oval die-cut (Spellbinders). The pull tab is also a die from Spellbinders, while the faux-crochet border behind the image is a MFT border die - lots of die cutting here!! The image was coloured with my Copics and the sentiment computer-generated.
I resolved to put together a criss-cross card, as it's so impressive and at the same time easy to make. I added some ribbon from my stash and printed out the digital papers - the orange and lime green colours were perfect for my ducks! A triplet of matching blings et voilà, the card was finished. Love how it turned out, so cute!!

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Trees or nature

Penny Black and more - Dies and punches

Have a nice evening and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Vittoria

The back of the card

Monday 9 February 2015

Hello there crafters,
it has been a while since I shared any of my work with you, so here is a Magnolia card I made for my dear friend Tina's birthday. The designer papers I used were all digital, I added a heart border made using a Martha Stewart punch, a white doily and some paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts from my stash, as easy as that. The Magnolia image was so much fun to colour with my Copics. I had also prepared a sentiment (birthday wishes) to go on the front of the card but guess what? I forgot to add it before mailing my card - am I silly or what? :D

Have a nice beginning of week and thanks a lot for stopping by.

Another bookmark

Hello there crafters!
I have another bookmark to share with you today. A friend saw the black&white bookmark I had created a while ago and asked me to make one for her. Her favourite colours are green and blue, so those she wanted for her bookmark. It was no easy task for me as that is a colour combination I don't particularly like, nothing seemed to work, but I managed in the end. I used a couple of Whiff of Joy tag dies for the bookmark, script background and Eiffel Tower stamps by Stamperia. I added an eyelet, a rhinestone and some ribbons from my stash and it was done!
It's nice to come out of our comfort zone every once in a while.

Thanks for stopping by and have a nice weekend!!

Fancy bookmark

Hello there crafters!
I hope you all had a great start of 2015. I bought a book as gift for a friend the other day and I wanted a bookmark to go with it, so I took out my Spellbinders dies (Detailed Scallops), a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Textiles) and here is what I came up with. I used black & white carstock and a Sizzix die and stamp set (Parfumerie) with nice and very feminine perfume bottles which I love. I added an eyelet and some ribbon and the bookmark was done. And could glitter be missing on a thing like this? Naaah! :D So I promptly added some Stickles to the bottle top.

The weekend is just around the corner, so enjoy it and hopefully it's a creative and crafty one!

Hugs, Vittoria
